A Nice Little Collection of Waxing Poetic Charms To Top of My Jewelry Collection

A couple of months ago, I did a huge week or so of Spring Cleaning. This felt SO good to get rid of all of the stuff (or most of the stuff) that I don't need or use. I got rid of so many things. It was also nice to donate the things that I don't use anymore that other people can use.

Surprisingly, I got rid of a ton of jewelry and now am trying to build my collection back up with stuff that I'll wear! I don't like to sport the same stuff with every outfit I wear.

What do you think of this charm? I got some charm bracelets and I love the collection of Waxing Poetic Charms to go with them. I can change them out whenever I want to in order to accomodate the outfit I am wearing. So cute!

Clear the table! Also great for parents with kids!

I think most of us can relate to a messy kitchen table at times! The table seems to be a magnet for messes! If I'm in a hurry to clean it, the clutter usually ends up on a nearby counter or somewhere else. I came across a site that had a neat idea for a quick table clean up!

All you need are the following:

Amazing Glow Jars!!

Hello everyone! These glow jars caught my attention right away from the amazing photos I found of them to the fact that they are super easy to make! Even better, you can use them for so many things!

glowing jars

Glowing jars

glowing jar creatures

Create them for weddings, holidays such as Halloween, parties or just for fun!!

Here is how it's done and what you will need:

Get your jars ready
Have two thin glow sticks for every jar
Scissors
Rubber gloves
Don't forget a pair of safety glasses

*Note: Creating the glow is a project for adults, not small children!

Cut the ends off of two glow sticks while holding them over the jar. Shake the contents into the jar until the sticks are about empty. Do not touch the contents! Carefully dump the loose contents of the jar into the trash can. Once you have done that, turn the jar slightly to the side and swirl the liquid around the inside of the jar. After this, you are done! Its pretty easy! How long will they glow for? It depends but you have about a good hour or more to enjoy them!
Have fun!

Hide your washer and dryer plus create space

I have to be honest, the thought never crossed my mind to hide our washer and dryer until I did a little searching on the web. We have a new washer and dryer at our house and its the front load kind. Naturally I tend to store things on the top of it. Over time, the top of the machines get scratched up and things fall between the cracks. It sucks to have to pull out the machines to find coins, buttons, etc. Well, here is an idea for your laundry room that is pretty simple.

love this idea in the laundry room, adding DIY curtains to hide the washer and dryer. & the counter top on top of the washer and dryer for storage and decor.. great for a small laundry room!

Place a shelf right above the machines to set your laundry supplies, baskets or whatever else you'd like on top. You can even fold your clothes up there. This keeps everything up off of the machines!
Also, hide your washer and dryer behind a set of curtains! You can definitely make your own curtains and they are really easy to put up. I thought this was a neat idea since usually laundry rooms tend to get neglected!

The Best Place for Massages in Orange County

Isn't funny how when we were kids, our parents used to have to TELL us to relax? We would whine about nap time and suffer through any kind of quiet time because this meant an ending to play time. I find this very ironic now, since I cherish any kind of nap I can get and having some peace and quiet is like taking a mini vacation.

A great way for me to achieve peace, quiet and relaxation is at my favorite day spa. They give the best massages in Orange County.  I can't get enough of going there and I don't just go for the massages. They also have a huge menu of body treatments including: spray tans, waxing, facials, and so much more.

I love coming here and I always look forward to my next appointment. What day spa is your favorite?

A cool adult snack for the summer

Want something that's cool, sweet and refreshing for a great adult snack?
Why not try an old recipe for wine marinated grapes?!
Fruit is no doubt almost always a great choice when soaked in booze!
The end results should look something like this:

Source of photo below:

How can you make these tasty little grapes? Its easy!

You will need the following:

A bottle of wine

A large pitcher

Fresh grapes

3 tablespoons of Zest

1/4 cup of sugar

A place in your refrigerator/freezer

Fill the large picture of wine, grapes, 3 tablespoons of Zest and 1/4 a cup of sugar. Let your grapes sit in the refrigerator for about a day (24 hours).  Take them out of the fridge and out of the picture. Feel free to add a few more tablespoons of sugar. Once you have done this place them in the freezer. Keep in there until they are frozen. In the meantime, you can always pour your wine back in its bottle and store in the fridge!

With a few short hours of taking them out, you will be snacking on them and enjoying a glass of marinated wine!

Easy Teeth Whitening Tip Worth Sharing

Hello readers! Not long ago I put out a blog for teeth whitening and now I have came across an easier way worth trying as well! My other blog showed you how to create a paste that you use to brush your teeth. I gave it a shot but also came to the painful realization that I needed dental work. OUCH!!! So, I'll have to continue my teeth whitening experiments sometime this summer. Feel free to try this next tip.

What you will need:

A cotton swab (Q-tips work well)
Hydrogen Peroxide
Toothbrush
Tooth Paste

Simply take a cotton swab and dip it in a cap full of hydrogen peroxide. Use it to scrub the peroxide on your teeth. Leave it on for only about 30 seconds. After that brush your teeth as you normally would. Rinse out your mouth with water. Try this in the morning and before bed for just one week and it is said that you will see results.

I tried this (once a day) when I was a little younger and it did seem to make a slight difference in that short amount of time. Good luck =)

Custom Engagement Rings 101

Have you ever been engagement ring shopping or always had an idea of what you wanted your "rock" to look like? Your not alone. While many girls find luck with a ring "off the rack" others are diving into deeper waters, customizing their own engagement rings. Sounds cool doesn't it, but how does one go about the process? Follow along.

Custom Engagement Rings 101
Know your budget: this seems like a no-brainer but it's easy to go into a jewelry store with an open mind and forget that you need to keep on track with your budget. Let your jeweler know right away so he or she can steer you clear of expensive features you can't afford.
Express Yourself: Don't forget to bring your unique personality through your ring. This is the most important part of custom engagement rings!
Don't forget the wedding band: When choosing your engagement ring, don't forget to keep the design of your wedding band as well
Take is slow: The last thing you want to do is rush into this process. Take it easy and let your true personality fly through the ring, most importantly, don't rush.

One of My Favorite Clothing Has EVERYTHING from Formal Dresses, Casual Clothing, and Even Junior Plus Size Clothing

I love it when I can find a website that has a great selection, fashion trends, and of course pieces that stay within my budget. I would much rather shop for sun dress that cost $30 where I can buy two or three than shop for a sun dress that is $80, where I would only be able to get one.

Pacific Plex seriously has it all. They carry such a wide variety of clothing on this site and have formal dresses (prom, bridesmaid, and even bridal gowns!), casual clothing such as capris, shorts, jeans, tops, zip-ups, and more, swimwear for summer, and even junior plus size clothing.

If you're wanting to update your wardrobe for a change of season, now is the time to do it!

My Top Favorite Perfumes

Hey there! Since I blogged about what I used for products on my wedding day, I thought I might as well do one more blog about some products. This time, I'll share with you my top favorite fragrances. Whatever the occasion, I have one for almost every mood or event you might experience!

First off, I LOVE Lilu! It is sold at Pacsun stores. Well wait... they sold it then they stopped carrying it, then they sold it again and now I'm not 100% sure if its still in stores. All I know is when I come across a bottle, I buy it! Its probably the most affordable out of all of my favorites. Its usually somewhere between about $12 and $25 depending on the size and you get bang for your buck. Why? In my opinion it is a really pretty smell that seems to last for awhile =) I typically wear it during the day. It has a floral scent and makes you picture Hawaii =)

Second, I wore Lucky You by Lucky Brand on my wedding day. Why Lucky? Probably because I was all out of my first choice (Very Sexy) ha ha, but Lucky is still one of my top favorites. I have wore it since high school and even the smell of it brings back memories of my younger years. This one is great for daytime or evening use.

Third, obviously Very Sexy by Victoria's Secret. My friends and I went into the store years ago and tested out every one they had. We all agreed that this was the sexiest smell they had! I love it! Definitely a favorite for going out at night =)

Forth, I'd have to say The Body by Victoria's Secret. It has a strong scent that I also use either during the day or at night. Not much else to add except to assure you that it leaves a great smell!

My Hair For The Big Day

Hello readers! Step into this brides world as she is trying to figure out just what to do about her hair.
I usually have zero problem coloring my hair on a whim. I have had all kinds of colors from black, all types of brown, red, bright blonde, fuchsia, multi-colored, etc. You would think I wouldn't have a problem making a decision, but nope. I went back and forth, back and forth until I finally showed up at my stylists house with my extensions in hand and said... "What do you think?"
I figured I would start off safe and go with a brown and blonde ombre. She did a great job lifting the black out of my hair. She also colored it something close to a dirty blonde and colored the top brown. I was happy. I went on with my day but when I got home I looked in the mirror and said "No guts, no glory!" I realized I was going to regret not having at least a little purple in my hair. Don't ask why purple. In my opinion, it can look pretty for a hair color and it was also one of our wedding colors so... why not?!
With only about two days until the wedding, I had to make some changes to my hair and fast!! The pressure was on!
I couldn't add purple strands to the ombre I had going on so I had to color brown over parts of the dirty blonde. I felt bad because it is very hard on your hair to lift black and here I just wasted part of that process but it had to be done if I wanted purple added. When all was said and done I now had my dark brown on top but it blended in and mixed with purple chunks and the dirty blonde as it went down to the ends. Sounds odd but the results were great!!

Now that the wedding is over, I am glad I took a risk and added a pop of color to my hair! It really stood out against my all white dress =)
Where can you pick up a similar color? Check out your local Sally Beauty Supply or CLICK HERE to check them out online!

Wedding Makeup Pt 2

Hey readers! Here is part two for my wedding makeup blogs =)
If you didn't realize it already, I did my own makeup. Call me picky but I would just rather do my own makeup. Every girl has her own way of doing it, ha ha.
The funny thing about my makeup for the big day is, it really wasn't too different from what I normally use!

Above is a photo showing what I used for my eyes... not including my mascara however which was by Maybelline.

I always use New York Color Liquid Eyeliner! It's super cheap and does the job! A good product for everyday use. I also had a friend give me a shimmer kit thingy from Physicians Formula. I fell in love with it. When I went to the store I picked up this eye shadow by Physicians Formula called Nude. CLICK HERE for a link to the product. Its a little spendy but worth it! You can pick it up in the cosmetics section at Walmart. This is also great for everyday use.

Last but not least, here is what I used for my lips.

Nothing too outrageous but keep in mind this is for a wedding so I kept my hot pink lipstick in the drawer for another day, ha ha. I have blogged about Maybelline's Super Stay 14 Hour Lipstick in the past and I still love it! This particular shade is 025 Beige. I topped it off with Covergirl's Wetslicks Lip Gloss. I forgot how much of an effect a touch of gloss can give.
Well that about does it for my wedding makeup products! Nothing too crazy but these are all products that I love and I use most of them on a daily basis. Well worth trying =)

An Easy Way To Clean Your Fridge

Hey readers! I feel like I just scrubbed out our refrigerator a couple weeks ago. When I went in there the other day, I noticed that its getting all sticky-icky again. Sometimes I just do not have the time to take everything out and scrub it. I thought to myself there has got to be an easier way to keep this fridge clean! Then I remembered that last winter I had seen a photo on Pinterest showing someones idea to use press and seal plastic wrap on your shelves! I went to Walmart and of course forgot to grab it, even though that was one of my main reasons for going (it happens! Ha ha) With that said, I have not done it yet but I will show you photos from a website and give you quick directions on how to do it yourself!

*Note: Please click on the source below the photos and give them the credit for the photos and the idea. Thank you =)

052512_fridgeliner1.JPG

Clean out your shelves of any items and scrub them clean if they are not clean already. Once you have completed that, carefully cover each shelf with the press and seal plastic wrap. Make sure the sticky side is down. You will need about two pieces for each shelf depending on your fridge. Be sure to press down on the wrap so that it sticks to the shelf. When you are done it will look something like the photo above. I think it adds a neat look to your fridge if you use decorated wrap but the choice is yours. Its not like we spend much time staring at our fridge ;)

052512_fridgeliner2.JPG

When you are done, put your items back on the shelves. The next time you notice a small spill or see that its getting sticky, simply removed the plastic wrap and replace it with a new piece. Worth a try right?!

Send Out Couples Shower Invitations Instead of Bachelor/Bachelorette Party Invitations

Many trends are changing when it comes to weddings. It used to be so traditional and now it seems like more and more people are going off the path of tradition and veering towards fun and exciting NEW things! Nobody ever said that your wedding has to be like everybody else's. Since you are your own person, do it however you wish!

I've noticed that a lot of people are straying from doing the traditional bachelor/bachelorette parties. Not everybody in the wedding party wants to get crazy and wild by going out. A couple's shower is a fun way to celebrate together with close friends. You don't have to be separated to have fun and this is a great way to do this.

If you're planning a couple's shower, find games and activities for guys AND girls. Send out your couple's shower invitations so that it's clear to your guests that this is a party for both of you. Also, remember to have FUN!!

Fun Makeup Products I Used On My Wedding Day Pt 1

Ladies, listen up =) I get asked often by some of you what products I use for my hair, my skin, what makeup do I use and so on and so forth. Well, my wedding was no different! I'm more than happy to share what I had spread out on my mother-in-laws counter top just minutes before it was time to leave for the ceremony!
I covered my skin in my most recent two blogs that I posted earlier tonight. Now I'm going to share with you what I used for makeup. These are products that I use on the regular sometimes as well.

First off, starting from the left side I tried out the Correction Crème from Hard Candy. This was my first time using this but since I am a huge fan of Hard Candy Cosmetics, I figured I'd see how it works. The package says 5 Flawless Results in 1:
color corrects skin tone
oil free
neutralizes undertone
brightens complexion
evens skin texture

My take on it... I liked it. I wasn't overly thrilled about it but I also wouldn't say I wasted my money either. I bought a Medium since I have been tanning. It worked almost the same as my other cover up which works pretty well. I still had a couple visible flaws but that's just me. These products aren't supposed to make miracles happen, ha ha. Since it worked as well as my Cover Girl cover up, I'd probably buy it again.

The second product is my Blush Crush Baked Blush number 126- "Pin Up" by Hard Candy. By the way, all of the Hard Candy products that I show can be found at Walmart.
This blush went on with a light pink that wasn't too dramatic... I liked that! It left a shimmer which brightened up my cheeks. There isn't much else to say except I loved it!

I forgot to add my Hard Candy concealer pencil into the photo so I apologize. It comes with a tube of concealer for about $6. I have blogged about it before. These two are by far my most favorite concealer combos ever! Total coverage and worth the money in my opinion. The pencil helps you cover up the smallest of flaws.

Hard Candy Glamoflauge Heavy Duty Concealer With Concealer Pencil, Medium 313

Source: Walmart

Last but not least is my Revlon Photo-Ready Concealer stick. I noticed mine went on a little yellow... I'm not sure if its supposed to? I picked out a Medium. Luckily in my photos though, no patches where I wore this stuck out. It lasted a good while without coming off. Id say besides the fact that my skin tone didn't exactly match up to the one I picked out, its a good product. Plus, concealer sticks are always a must for in your purse or in your makeup kit =) I am Pick one up at your local Target!

Thanks for reading everyone!
Stay tuned for part 2 soon!

Add Shine To Your Hairstyle!

While I was at the salon getting my hair ready for our wedding, I remembered to ask my stylist what product she would recommend to add shine to my hair. I have a bottle of shine spray from Garnier at home. It works good, but you get what you pay for in this case. If you can spare the extra cash, I recommend Bed Head's Headrush. Its a shine spray that seems to go on a little more evenly than other products. It sprays on more like a mist and leaves a nice shine that almost makes your hair look like its shimmering. I recommend it for adults of all ages. Just because its in a hot pink and lime green bottle, doesn't mean the middle age ladies can't try it out!
This product gives your hair a healthy look and makes it stand out without being too dramatic!
I wanted to share with you what it looks like but of course its really hard for a cell phone camera to pick up the details. I suggest you go to your local salon who carries this product, Target or other stores that sell it and try it out for yourself!

A Glamorous and Glowing Product You Must Try!

Hello readers! On my wedding day, I wanted everything to be the best that it could be. Of course, this should go without saying! I wanted to add a healthy glow to my skin. I was looking through my makeup and body products and came across my bottle of shimmering body lotion from Victoria's Secret. I believe its from their Super Model collection and called Glamour.

*Note: This is not my photo. Please visit the source below and give her the credit for the photo. She is also a fan of this lotion =)

Anyways, let me tell you about this product because its really amazing! My fiancé bought it for me and since then its always been a favorite of mine. You know it must be good if your man is paying attention to it =) The fragrance smells alluring and amazing! It goes on smooth and the best part, its probably the best product I have tried yet that gives your skin that incredible glow! Perfect for your shoulders, tummy, collar bone and even a little on your legs! It definitely works and gives a shimmering effect that's not... tacky? For the lack of a better word, ha ha.

It was about $20 and totally worth every dollar! Perfect for fun nights out or a romantic time with your partner. Even the single ladies can put this on... just because! There is nothing wrong with feeling sexy and glowing just for yourself =)
Check out your nearest Victoria's Secret store and ask about this and other similar products. I'm not 100% positive if they still carry this exact product. I could not find it on their website but I know that they sell something very similar. I'm sure just with a different package/name so be sure to give their products a try =)

It's YOUR Wedding So Customize It! Have a Custom Jewelry Designer Help You Out.

I have found that some of my favorite weddings that I've been to and the ones that stick with me the most are the ones that are customized to the couple. Last weekend, I went to a wedding of a couple that loves wine. They personalized their wedding around this by having a "guestbook" of wine bottles to open on various anniversaries that the guest signed, place cards for the guest held down by wine corks, and centerpieces of wine glasses with floating candles.
Another way to add some customization to your wedding is with custom jewelry. This is a way to have wedding jewelry made just for you. Simone and Son takes into account YOUR personal style and budget. Check them out and let a custom jewelry designer help you customize your wedding even more with custom wedding jewelry to fit you as a couple perfectly.

Send Out Your Lingerie Shower Invitations and Get Ready for Some Fun!

Are you wanting to have a lingerie shower to celebrate your upcoming wedding? These super fun parties are becoming really popular. They are a ton of fun! Here's a couple of tips to make your party a success:

1. Send out the lingerie shower invitations a month to a month in a half before the date of the party. Ask guests to RSVP by a date that is two weeks before the party so you have a head count regarding food and drinks.

2. Pick a fun theme, such as "Pretty in Pink", "Aloha!" or "Vintage Love". This makes a great central theme for decorations.

3. When you send out your invitations, send out sizes. This is a a great way to make sure that guests aren't having to play the guessing game when it comes to your undergarments.

4. Keep your guest-list exclusive. Make sure that everybody that is on the list is somebody that you would feel comfortable receiving lingerie from. This means grandma might have to sit this one out.

5. Have fun! This is a great way to hang out with your gal pals before your big day. It's also a fantastic way to load up on intimates before your wedding night and honeymoon!

Cool Party Lighting

Hey there! I found one more neat chandelier lighting design tonight that I felt like sharing =) This one is easier then the last blog I put up and It works for indoor OR outdoor use!

DIY: chandelier
1 hula hoop (spray painted) + 2 strings of icicle lights and black electrical tape = magnificent chandelier. Awesome!

*NOTE: I did not create this. Please click on the link below the photo to visit the source =)

The only materials you need are one's that could be found in your garage or shed! Spray paint a hula hoop a color that you like. I would recommend a tan or white to match the lighting. Grab two sets of icicle lighting and black electrical tape. I would also suggest painting the tape the same color as the hula hoop. Tape the lights on to the hula hoop and there you have it! Unique DIY Chandelier Project

Hello readers! I figured I would share with you a neat idea that I found while searching online for craft ideas. I love DIY projects and today I'm sharing with you how you can create a neat chandelier design! There are sooo many ideas out there but I had to go with just one. I picked a really pretty bright colored attention grabber =) Ha ha!

It definitely makes a statement in which ever room you choose to use it in. It doesn't necessarily have to be in this color either but it does look great!

*NOTE: This is NOT my creation. As I stated in my last blog, I am very busy right now with wedding planning, my child, etc so for about another month I won't be crafting unless it is wedding related! Please click on the link below the photo and give this person the credit =) Thank you!

Back to the project...

It does not appear to say how much all the supplies will cost but I am going to assume that this will still be a little cheaper then if you were to go buy a similar chandelier. The materials needed are as follows:

Lots of long strands of beads (marti-gras, wooden beads, etc. all work)
Metal hanging garden basket
A spool of thin gauge wire
Some wire outters
A wire clothes hanger
A pendant light kit
A metal chain (used to hang the light fixture)
Light fixture mounting bracket, loop and bolt
A light fixture ceiling cap

Now follow her steps on her site as she walks you through the process. The end results are nothing short of amazing and I will definitely be trying something similar when we move into our first house =) Good luck!

Cute DIY Tank Top Idea

Hello everyone! Since its spring I thought it would find a cute DIY shirt project for those who are interested to try. I have done a few in the past but stopped. I guess I ran out of shirts to design and got caught up in other things. Maybe its time I grab my scissors, needle and thread and try it again! We have had a very busy life lately with a wedding to plan, a two year old and trying to move on with life so all of my crafting has went into the wedding so far. With that said, tonight I will not be sharing my own creation but I will show you how a crafty lady designed a cute top with her own materials around the house! Very simple. Very cute! Lets go!

Meet Jessica!

She runs her own blog like many of us and put step by step instructions on how to create this adorable top! I personally think the bow is cute, especially for spring! Undecided if you want to try this? I'll tell you what, she only used a few things:

A knit shirt or tank top
fabric for the neck and the bow
Scissors and items needed to sew

That's it!

Its great to recycle old clothing and make a new style out of it!

Neat Bathroom Ideas!!

Welcome to my blog! Today I thought I would share some neat bathroom ideas that I found while browsing through Pinterest! Who knows, you might want to try them in your own home =)
Check it out:

*NOTE: These are not my creations so please click on the links below the photos and give credit to those who put these up =) Thank you!

Moving along...
The first idea I found was using a plate stand as a holder for your bathroom counter top needs! It saves some space and adds a little style to the room. You can find similar plate stands at a lot of different stores. One being Target.

Bathroom...

Here is the second idea I loved:

Use regular curtains and take rod to the ceiling. hang towel bar above the toilet

Notice the extra long shower curtain idea? I really like the fact that you can open it from the center! Its actually two long window curtains! Move the rod and hang it up below the ceiling instead! Pretty neat!

Next is a cute bathroom sign! Perfect for visitors or just a nice added touch to your home =)
